Renor gives AI tools and agents durable memory over MCP. What you tell one connected agent, every connected agent can recall later.
There is one MCP endpoint, over Streamable HTTP:
Connecting needs a Renor account. Create one at https://app.renor.cloud/signup; if that page says Renor is invite-only, request access at https://renor.cloud first. You sign in once in the browser and click Approve; there is no key to copy. A request without a valid token reads and writes nothing. If sign-in times out, run the sign-in step again; your account already exists.
Connect your agent
Or paste the setup prompt from https://renor.cloud into your agent: it runs these steps and installs the Renor skill, which tells the agent when to recall and when to remember.
To install the skill on its own, run this in your project directory. It asks nothing, so your agent can run it too:
It puts the skill in .agents/skills/renor-memory in that directory and links it for the agents you use there. In your own terminal you can run npx skills@1.7.2 add https://github.com/patrickpassosb/renor-skills/tree/018fddc51e6066c30c6919fdf27bbb1c8b64187a instead: it asks which agents to install to (inside an agent it recognises, such as Claude Code, it asks nothing).
To do it by hand, pick your tool and run its step, then sign in as shown.
Claude Code
If renor already exists, remove it first (claude mcp remove renor) and add it again.
Restart Claude Code, run /mcp, choose renor, and pick Authenticate.
Codex
On Codex 0.160.x this starts the browser sign-in itself; on newer versions, if it does not, run codex mcp login renor. Then restart Codex.
Cursor
Merge this into ~/.cursor/mcp.json, keeping every existing server:
Save the file, restart Cursor, open Customize › MCPs, find renor and sign in. In a terminal, cursor-agent mcp login renor does the same.
Renor’s sign-in accepts the local-callback sign-in the Cursor CLI uses (checked with Cursor CLI 2026.09.28 on 2026-10-06) and refuses the older cursor:// callback, so a Cursor build that still signs in through cursor:// is rejected until Cursor is updated.
OpenCode uses port 19876 and the Cursor desktop app uses port 8787 for the sign-in callback; if another program holds that port (8787 is Cloudflare wrangler’s default dev port), stop it for the sign-in.
OpenCode
Merge this into ~/.config/opencode/opencode.json, keeping every existing key:
Run opencode mcp auth renor, then restart OpenCode.
Pi 0.99 and later has built-in MCP support. Run:
--exposure direct declares Renor’s tools to the model one by one; Pi’s default, codemode, leaves them to scripts. pi mcp login opens the browser sign-in. If Renor’s tools are not listed in Pi, run /reload there.
Before Pi 0.99 there is no pi mcp. Check with pi --version; if it is older than 0.99, run pi update first, then the two commands above.
ChatGPT and Claude.ai (manual setup)
These apps run in the browser, so an agent inside the chat cannot add Renor for you. Add it as a custom connector in the app’s own settings, with the address above. The paths below are the apps’ own help pages as of 2026-10-08 and may change.
- Claude.ai: Customize › Connectors › + Add › Add custom connector. Name it Renor, paste the address, keep the sign-in settings Claude detects (if it asks how Claude identifies itself, choose Register automatically, not Claude’s published identity — Renor registers its own client), then Add and Connect. In each new chat, open + › Connectors and switch Renor on. On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds it first, under Organization settings › Connectors; members then click Connect.
- ChatGPT: chatgpt.com/plugins › + › Add custom MCP server. Name it Renor, paste the address, choose OAuth, confirm the risk warning, then Create as a plugin. Install the plugin, start a new chat, type @ and pick Renor. ChatGPT asks you to sign in to Renor the first time it uses a tool. A workspace admin’s security policy, including Lockdown, can block custom MCP servers; if yours is blocked, ask the admin to allow Renor.
Check that it works
Tell the agent: “Remember that my favorite editor is Neovim.” Then, in a new session, ask: “What is my favorite editor?” Renor should answer Neovim.
In ChatGPT, start both chats with @Renor, so that ChatGPT uses the plugin: say “Remember that my favorite editor is Neovim” in a chat with @Renor, then ask “What is my favorite editor?” in a new chat with @Renor.
Renor searches by meaning as well as by words, so you do not have to repeat what you saved word for word. A very vague question such as “what do you know about me?” may still come back empty.
Do not store credentials or secrets as memories.
